Ministry of Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Conducts Training on Incorporating Relevant SDGs Targets and Indicators in PC-I Pro Forma on iPAS.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have been a crucial element of Pakistan's national development agenda since the country became a signatory on 25th September 2015. The Ministry of Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives serves as the custodian ministry responsible for reporting on SDGs. In an effort to align all development programs with the SDGs framework, the SDGs Section of the Ministry successfully organized a capacity-building training session on integrating relevant SDGs targets and indicators into the PC-I pro forma using iPAS.
The purpose of this initiative is to ensure that all Project Concept-I (PC-I) documents are closely linked with the corresponding SDGs targets and indicators. This approach will enable better monitoring of resource allocation for development programs in accordance with the SDGs framework. The training sessions were designed to provide guidance and support to all ministries, provinces, and agencies involved in the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) funding for the fiscal year 2023-24.
The training sessions were conducted at the P-Block Auditorium from 24th to 27th October 2023, commencing at 10:00 am and concluding at 12:00 noon each day. The event saw the active participation of numerous ministries, all of whom acquired valuable insights into the practical implementation of the iPAS framework, specifically focusing on the SDGs component, numbered as 20, within the PC-1 pro forma.
This initiative represents a significant step forward in aligning Pakistan's development projects with the Sustainable Development Goals, further reinforcing the country's commitment to achieving these global objectives.
