Consultative Meeting between Federal SDGs Unit Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives and Ministry of National Health & Population.

Ministry of Planning, Development & Special initiatives and Ministry of National Health & Population held a consultative meeting with relevant stakeholders on 15th January 2020 to discuss data challenges in monitoring and reporting of indicators of SDG 3 “Good Health and Well-being”.
Stakeholders from both ends including PBS, M/o IT & Telecom, WHO, Provincial SDGs Units and NIPS were also present. Data sources and methodology for estimation of the indicators was discussed with strategies for effective outcomes. The meeting also discussed formulating baseline and targets for SDG-3 indicators and mapping the strategy for achieving milestones. Targets and timelines for these initiatives are to be set with the consent of all stakeholders, the meeting decided. It was also decided to form a “Technical Committee” housed in the M/o H&P to lead the processes. An important point of the meeting was to outline and discuss the challenges in legislation, policy and implementation which can hinder or alter the achievement of the SDG-3. Curbing such factors efficiently will be taken into consideration in the meetings of the technical committee as well.
