A 2-day event was organized by the Centre of Excellence in Responsible Business (CERB), Pakistan Business Council on 14th and 15th November, 2023 at Karachi School of Business and Leadership. Ms. Rida Najam, Assistant Chief (SDGs) was invited for a session on Business Disclosures on SDGs: Reporting Progress on SDG targets and indicators. The session was attended by mid to senior level management of various private sector entities including Engro, HBL, Dalda, Indus Motor Company Ltd, and so on. The presentation by Ms. Rida included an in-depth review of how Pakistan is currently reporting on SDGs, both nationally and internationally. It further reflected on the current engagement of the private sector and how private sector can implement and report on SDGs. The list of indicators that relate directly and indirectly with the private sector were discussed in detail and the audience was apprised of how responsible business framework, ESG reporting, decent work environment, sustainability reporting, and sustainable business practices can enhance SDG implementing and reporting by the private sector.
